I graduated from the now defunct Spring Branch Senior High School - home of the Bears. I changed from a Bear to a Bearkat and received both my Bachelor of Arts in Teaching and Masters in Education (Counseling) from Sam Houston State University.

I have been a proud Panther for the previous four years and am excited to be here for the fifth.
My educational career began in 1984 as a middle school math teacher in Spring Branch ISD. After seven years, I moved into a high school guidance counselor position for the next seven years. My family relocated in the late 90's to Huntsville, Texas, where I decided to stay at home with my growing family. I continued to be involved in the schools as I served as a member or officer in the PTO and other school organizations.
Periodically I was called upon to fill in for a high school math teacher position in Huntsville for a year, or be an independent tutor for the TAKS or SAT exams. I also served on various school or district committees such as Campus Improvement, Campus Leadership, Campus Advisory, Student Health Advisory, District Improvement, District Advisory, and Professional Leadership.
After my youngest graduated from high school, I decided to look for a part time job and was fortunate in my timing to have been hired here at Richards ISD.
I married my college sweetheart 30+ years ago. From our union we have three "children"; Jilian - a marine biologist now working for the Warrior Dog Foundation, Brent - an aerospace engineer in Arizona, and Kira - recent graduate from UT.
However, I don't have an empty house, as it is occupied by our furry "children". Happily, we are down to three "cats" ( one a bengal and bobcat hybrid). At one time we had a household of one dog, twelve cats, one bird, two fish aquariums, sixteen rats, a hermit crab, and one boa constrictor... in other words, a miniture zoo.
