Helping to keep parents and the public informed

Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills

The Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, commonly referred to as the TEKS, are the state standards for what students should know and be able to do.

Created and approved by the publicly elected State Board of Education (SBOE), these standards cover all subjects taught in Texas public schools, including the four foundational content areas of Mathematics, English Language Arts and Reading, Science, and Social Studies.

While the TCMPC TEKS Resource System is built upon and aligned to the TEKS, we are not involved in the creation, distribution, or enforcement of the TEKS in any way, and we are not affiliated with the SBOE. For any questions regarding the SBOE or the adoption of the TEKS, please contact the Texas Education Agency.

To view the current state adopted TEKS, please visit the Curriculum Standards section of the TEA website.

These resources are meant to help the most critical people in a child's education – their parents. The Parent/Guest Portal provides the ability to view all state adopted standards (TEKS), as well as, the TEKS Resource System curriculm components. For more information regarding the curriculum and assessment components that are offered by the TCMPC, please refer to our Component Chart.
